I actually have no problem with you. When you voice your opinion on anything that doesn't involve Boston I usually agree with you. I don't say Rose is the best.
Pay attention...i dont think he is the best player in the playoffs, because that would make him the best player in the NBA...i said he HAS BEEN the best player in the playoffs...the Celtics will win the NBA title, and Rondo has been their best player throughout the playoffs. Can you please comment on how you said Rondo "Might be top 10 pg"???...Again, Rondo has the best all around skills out of every PG in the league, and if you dont think thats even an argument, you know nothing. You just said yourself that you didnt watch the game, so im assuming you dont watch the games, so how do you even have an opinion???....I understand you have to work on weekends as its the only time office buildings are unoccupied for janitorial services, but you could at LEAST listen to the game on your walmart 1992 sony walkman instead of listening to "Boy George Culture Club" while you work.....once again, i OWN youy...when are you going to you are just better off not taking my debates?
that is all,
Tito the reason I didn't watch the game was because I was working and I was listening to the Cubs and Sox on my walkman.
I couldn't afford Sony so I got some no name brand but it still works and forget Boy George it is Ace of Base all the way
Gibbs you know you were jamming to Rick Astley and Billy Ocean. Ace of Base is so played out. Lets not forget the cassette of Michael Bolton's greatest hits you hide in your Member's Only jacket pocket.
Yes, not only is Rondo the most feminine looking player in the NBA he is also the best PG going right now. Even with his crappy free throw shooting.
His shooting is what kills this for Tito. He is a shitty free throw shooter and shoots below 30% from 3. Williams and Paul can do everything. Does anyone honestly think the Celtics wouldn't take Deron Williams for Rondo if the trade was offered
Their are two sides to every game and Rondo is also a very good and willing defender not to mention the best rebounding point guard in the league. My grandma could rack up huge assist numbers in the Jazz's offense so I feel that DWilliams is a tad overrated. I agree that Paul is more talented, but he has fallen off as of late due to injuries and I think a yearning to leave New Orleans no matter what he says out loud.
Great point guards are only as good as the bigger men surrounding them. Put Rondo on a lesser team and he probably wouldn't rank amongst the league's best, but he is where he is and that is how we have to judge him. Like DRose, who is stuck being the top scorer at the smallest position with a group of lackluster shooters around him.His game may be more impressive than any other point guard in the league, because of what he has to put up with. I still rank Rondo ahead of him as he is miles ahead of him on the defensive end of the floor.
ummm..yeah, Rondo had a better FG percentage this season than Williams buddy (and Paul for that matter)...faster, better defense, clearly better ball handler, better passer...runs the break better than Williams...i only know one team that would take Rondo over Williams, and thats The Utah JAZZ......maybe they wouldnt have gotten SMASHED in the playoffs by the Lakers.....dude, you said "Rondo "might be" top 10 pg.....LOL @ YOU!!!!!!
Rondo 50.8 FG 21.2 3PT 62.1 FT
Williams 46.9 FG 37.1 3PT 80.1 FT
Paul 49.3 FG 40.9 3PT 84.7 FT
When Rondo learns how to shoot maybe you can make your case then and by the way just for fun
Derrick Rose 48.9 FG 26.7 3PT 76.6 FT
Rondo had a better FG% because of 2 reasons:
a) he didn't have to shoot as much as Williams or Paul
b) he was smarter about his shot selection (mostly taking layups and <8foot runners)
If he was forced to shoot more often (like, say in the finals) his shooting % would drop significantly, and that hurts him.
That being said, seeing how Ray Allen completely lost his legs guarding the hell out of Kobe, you could make a very fair argument that playing smoldering D for most nba players has the ability to almost obliterate their offensive game. So if Williams and Paul were to play D as well as Rondo does, you'd have to assume their #s would drop just as much (Yes, Paul has steals, but he's not nearly the defender that Rondo is).
I think it's pretty clear Kobe and Rondo were the 2 best players this postseason. And if Rondo were to develop a shooting game (hey RayRay, you feel like mentoring anyone?) he might be considered one of the best overall players in the game.
