I started this blog in 2008, I think. Thanks to WaPo’s Chris Jenkins who dared me. Since then, I have tried being in a sports network twice, neither time really working out. The last time, I lost my entire history and all the posts I have written in the past. Sure, I probably have a backup file from a few years ago, but it would seem weird to load that and then pretend that I haven’t written anything in between. Granted, I have been lax the last few years, but maybe I just needed to be independent again, write what I want, not worrying about clicks and battles and trash talk. Know what I mean? This is all brand new.

So, here we are…a lot has changed since I started this blog….my son began his own football career in the time I’ve been writing here. I have made tons of great friends, and lost some too. In fact, I lost one of my favorite Steelers fans, my brother, two steeler twins sep 8years ago and perhaps that’s been part of my laziness in writing. But we also also gained a couple Steelers fans around the same time. (They are two now!)

It’s a new year, though. Now that my son is a budding college football

player, I have a different relationship with football. (And if you talk trash about my kid, my mama bear instincts will come out and cut you, consider yourselves warned!) I went from loving to see the hard hits and people getting laid out (looking at you James, Ryan and Hines) to worrying a lot about concussions and CTE. I think about the NCAA and the NFL as businesses, much more than pure entertainment. My view has just changed Рgood, bad or ugly, I have a different relationship with the game.

Here you will probably see me rant, curse, celebrate, and share information. Feel free to comment.

Now that I’m independent again, it’s just me and you talking sh*t about sports. ¬†If you don’t want to say something here, you can always reach me at sg@steelergurl.com. Thanks for visiting.
