The Bloodbath: Steelers beat Ravens by 3

Wow. I am not even sure where to start.  Last night was the most physical game I have ever witnessed in my life.  Broken foot, a broken nose, a pulled hammy, an ankle sprain, and a OMG did he break his neck concussion and those are just the ones we know about.

Hey NFL – welcome to Big Boy football.  That’s how we get down.

How many people got queasy after Ngata broke Ben’s nose? *raises hand*

Ben came out looking a little slow at first, his foot a hindrance, or so it seemed.  But then he completed 22 for 38 and 253 yards, 1 TD (to my boy Isaac Redman!!) and 1 INT, with both a broken nose and a broken foot.  Is he a princess now Ravens fans?

Prior to the game, I can’t tell you how many Ravens fans said Ben was a drama king and that he never wants to play against the Ravens.  Maybe he has had moments of drama, but he’s no princess.

And what about that stiff arm on Suggs?  That was one of the highlights of the evening, no?

As was the Troy strip-sack and Woodley pick up and run…and then…the winning Isaac Redman TD.  Way to take care of business gentlemen.  I’m still trying to figure out how no one accounted for Troy on that play.  If there is one person you have to look for, it’s #43.  Bet that won’t happen again.

But let’s be real, the Baltimore Ravens controlled 57 minutes of the game.  The Steelers held on tight, but the Ravens controlled the tempo.

As always when these two teams meet, it came down to one play at the end of the game to determine the victor. I was not confident that the Steelers would win the game going into Sunday.  I hoped for a win, but thought the Ravens were in a better position due to less injuries.  Yet with a patchwork O-line, a broken down QB and a stellar defense, the Steelers were able to capitalize on mistakes.

Now let’s talk about this:

I was sure that Heath’s neck was broken.  I was sick in my stomach already over all the blood (Ben’s nose and Suggs lips ewwwww) and then this….wow. I hope Heath is ok.

Good news is that there was a fine doled out today. As it should be.  Harrison was fined for even looking at anyone crazy. Hope the League comes to some kind of agreement on dollar amount because the random amounts are just crazy.

Anyway, tough game and the season is not over yet.  We still have to fight for the next 4 games. Get healthy and get ready. Playoffs are right around the corner, don’t lose sight of the goal.

Let’s go Steelers.

Well said Steeler Gurl. Good news is that 3 out the 4 games left are in Pittsburgh. Just hope we are healthy for the playoffs and history has shown us that we might be better off as a Wild card. I’m just saying.
From the sunshine state (FL) Lets Go Steelers!

That OPEN DIALOGUE that the Rooney’s suggested for the season end just got another ‘where’s the flag’ alert for the NFL to be red-faced about. How dumb is Goodell & his incompetent staff gonna look now after the obvious ‘late hit’ on Heath Miller that almost put him in a wheelchair… Hines Ward has every reason to be smiling with his ‘accurate call out’… but not so smiling that he & his teammate Heath have NOT been looked after as Ray ‘blah blah blah’ Anderson talked it up like it was a NFL gospel. Resign now Ray Anderson you disgusting LIAR and HYPOCRITE. The officials have once again been ‘put in an awkward situation’ with first being ‘undermined after the Browns game and now not reacting…following thru with the supposed ‘Player Safety Legislation’ and how about the pathetic very late late flag for DPI that was meerly a crowd/sideline call that wasn’t THERE at all??? NFL + accountability = BILLDUST!! Steelers beat the NFL’s very own incompetent officials , the Ravens & overcome significant injuries to claim VICTORY. I agree with Big DaddyUK… Smashmouth Steeler Football is back!!
