What a difference a couple of weeks makes, right?
During the pre-season, no one thought the Steelers would start 3-0 and have that nasty defense back. The boom we were looking for pretty much every 4th quarter last year is alive and well. But this week was’t just about the defense. Charlie Batch came out ready to roll throwing for 186 yards including two TD passes to #17 Mike Wallace.
If you hadn’t seen it with your own eyes, would have you believed the game?
Would you have guessed that going into the last week of the Ben suspension the Steelers would be undefeated?
I sure didn’t. I’m not going to say I was negative, but I felt like 2-2 would be just fine.
At 3-0, now we have people saying the Steelers are the best in the NFL. I don’t know about best, yet, but the Steelers are really, really good. And Ben hasn’t even stepped foot on the field. All summer I have said that no one should sleep on our defense, and if you read my blog on the regular, you know this. Imagine how we’re going to look after the bye week, with Ben ON the field.
But before we get to that, we have to get through the Ravens.
Ravens preview post to come. In the meantime, you can check out me and the NFL Chick on The Rob Long Show Thursday, September 30 at 10am. We’ll be talking Steelers and Ravens all morning.
