As of today, all the draft picks except for #1 pick, Maurkice Pouncey an offensive lineman (who we really need to sign) and #2 pick Jason Worilds a linebacker from Virginia Tech have been signed. I’m sure these two will be signed, they are likely still negotiating the dollars.
Yesterday, they signed offensive tackle Chris Scott and CB Crezdon Butler, both 5th round picks.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I am ready for football to get underway so we really have something to talk about. Training camp is right around the corner, and I am looking forward to this season to start and hopefully erase last year’s bad record. Even with the Ben drama, this season has to be better overall.
In other news, Coach Tomlin hosted the All Pro Dads Father & Kids Experience at UPMC ports Performance Complex. All Pro Dad Program is dedicated to strengthening the bonds between fathers and their children.
“Coaching football is my job, being a husband and father is who I am,†said Tomlin. “I prioritize it that way and I like to encourage others to do the same.â€
Not a bad message leading up to Father’s Day this weekend. Those of you who read my blog know that I grew up watching football sitting next to my Dad on the couch. Well, he probably watched and I likely just annoyed him, asking questions. But, I can’t knock that time together. Without that, I probably wouldn’t be writing this blog today. As parents we have to realize that quality time with our children is key to their success. It was for me and I try to make sure Steelerboy has the same love and attention I received as a child. Watching football together is bonding time for us as well. Wishing every Dad in Steeler Nation a Happy Father’s Day. Enjoy!
