I would have written a pre-game post on the Steelers vs. Chiefs game and if I had, it would have gone a little like this:
Rashard needs to run for like 300 yards today.
Ben needs to call the plays and leave Arians over on the sideline wondering what’s going to happen.
Hines, Santonio and Mike Wallace need to have 100 yard games and a touchdown a piece.
Special teams needs to kick butt. Period. No run backs, no yards. Contain inside the 20 please.
But I was so uninspired that I didn’t get all that written, til now. Â So, that’s my big pre-game post. Like it?
But I will share what did inspire me. I took Steelerboy to see The Blindside last night – the true story about Ravens O-lineman, Michael Oher. Â I have to admit, that viewing the trailers, I was not at all impressed with what I figured would be an obnoxious Sandra Bullock character totally dominating the storyline. Â Well, that was half true. Â Her character did dominate, but her relationship with Michael and how he changed her life actually was inspiring. Â Everyone knows I bleed black and gold, but for a split second following the movie as I was waiting to get out of my seat, I actually considered buying my son an Oher jersey. Â Yup – a Ravens jersey. Â (Steeler Nation, please do not give me any smack talk until you see the movie, then by all means, let me have it) The obstacles that Oher overcame to get where he is today most of us cannot even begin to comprehend. I remember during the draft thinking he would make a great Steeler and I was envious when the Ravens traded up to get him. Â It was a good pick for them. Â (@TheNFLChick and @Tailgate365, remember we had those conversations)
Anyway, see the movie. I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I did. Because I have a feeling today’s Steelers game will be anything but inspiring. Then again, it is the NFL anything can have it.  Let’s hope it’s not the “anything” that would ruin my Sunday.
Go Steelers.
