Steelerboy17 and SteelergurlsBro
I’ve been asked this question a thousand times and I answered this in another post last year but I thought I would revisit this because 1) Steelergurl is about to be a year old and 2) the interim Vice Chairman of Steelergurl Inc thought it would be cool to highlight three generations of Steelers fans (my own family) here on Steelergurl.com.
Football is something I look forward to all week.  I was recently told I should focus more, that this frivolous football stuff is taking away from some other areas of my life.  I don’t know what everyone else does on their free time when they don’t want to think about work, but I watch football.  It’s also a bonding moment for me and my son…and the rest of my family for that matter.  We go to games, we watch games, we talk about games.  My family has one thing in common, we all love Pittsburgh sports (Steelers, Pens and even the miserable Buccos), what better way to have family bonding. That said, over the next few months, you will get to hear from my dad, SteelergurlsPop, and my son, SteelerBoy17 and even possibly, if I can get him to write something my brother, SteelergurlsBro.
The thing about Steelers fans that I am not sure everyone realizes is that you are born into SteelerNation.
Recently my parents visited DC and one of SteelerBoy17′s friends asked why he liked the Steelers. Steelerboy17′s answer: “I don’t think I had a choice.”
That would be correct. He didn’t.
