If you read James Walker’s blog - you would know it’s Dick LeBeau and Troy Polamalu, and oh yeah, Ed Reed (a gimme for my friends who happen to be Ravens fans).
With the best defense in the NFL, the Steelers Dick LeBeau is a genius. I still say, if we have a focused offense and an O-line that protects Ben – there’s no one that can beat the Steelers.
On my Steeler-free Sunday, I was forced to watch other NFL games (because I am a junkie and live for football season, I know, I really should get a life) and I do think the Giants have a good team, but I don’t see anyone else who is “better” than the Steelers.
You can argue that the Jets are the best in the AFC – as I heard a lot of commentators state yesterday – so they had a good game against the Titans. I still don’t see them as the shining stars of the AFC.
The Steelers do have to work for at least the second seed in the AFC. The next 5 games aren’t easy. They aren’t given wins either. BUT, if the D can take control and do what they do, and Ben plays well, then I see them rolling through the other playoff contenders.
The caveat – injuries.
Kiesel is questionable for this week. Willie Parker has been in and out and as I stated before, just not playing great. But we’ve got Moore to cover there and Russell on shorts. McFadden should be back in this week. Santonio was still suffering from a concussion but should play against the Patriots. Key is to stay healthy.Â
By the way, Tomlin has the best winning percentage in 27 games than any other coach in Steeler history.
And remember, Steelers were a wildcard when they won Super Bowl XL. What matters most is what happens in post-season play.Â
It can be done…
