With the last pick in the first round – a spot I will take every year, by the way – the Steelers chose Missouri DT, Evander “Ziggy” Hood.  The 6’4″ 295lb will likely play defensive end backing up Aaron Smith and Brett Kiesel.  Hood is the first defensive lineman the Steelers have drafted in the first three rounds since they got nose tackle Casey Hampton in the first round in 2001.

Hood will bring some depth to the Steelers 3-4 defense and is a vasatile player.  He was also named “All Big-12″ player.
