Nate Washington, the Steelers #3wide out, has signed a deal with the Titans. I’m not surprised, but I am a little sad. His numbers don’t make you scream “best wide receiver ever” with 40 receptions for 631 yards and 3 touchdowns, but Nate could be counted on. When Hines was out, Nate did a great job filling in for him. He was also part of the tri-fecta when the Steelers ran the play with 3 WR’s on one side.Â
Over his time with the Steelers, Nate played in 49 games and made seven starts, scoring 12 touchdowns. He had 1,705 yards receiving in a Steelers uniform.
The deal with the Titans is reportedly $27 million for six years. I can’t be mad at him for going after the money, but we’ll miss him.
What does this mean for the Steelers? Well, Limas will likely move up to #3 and hopefully he will have had a lot of workouts this off-season to improve his receiving ability OR the Steelers better get ready to grab a WR. Thing is, we really need to be focusing on strengthening the O-line.
I’m looking forward to seeing how this all plays out.
Bring on the draft…
