You can probably ask any Steelers fan why they love the Steelers and you will get a few common answers.
1. They play hard.
2. There are no divas on the team, it’s all about winning, not individual records.
3. There’s a sense of loyalty and dedication not just from the fans but from the team members themselves. (In other words, not everyone sells out because of $$)
4. There’s always consistency. You know what you are going to get, even if it’s in a “building” year. The Coaches are always top notch and obviously, they stick around. (Only 3 in 40 years)
5. There is great respect for the Rooney family and their ownership of the team.
Yesterday, I read this article in the NYT and it just added another level to my loving the Steelers. There aren’t a lot of owners like this in the League. And the loyalty and dedication, along with creating that family, transcends fm the team out to the fans. If you don’t like the Steelers, read this, you will at least have respect for them.

I like the team’s mentality and spirit, but the fans (yourself excepted) tend to be a bit douchey! You guys are the Cowboys of the NFC!

Well, here’s the diff – in my mind – between us and the Cowboys…
1. They are show boats.
2. Their fans are obnoxious – tho confident, I have to admit.
While yes, other than Steelers, there are probably more Cowboys fans all over the place than any other team.
I would challenge Cowboys fans to give us the real reason they are fans.
I also say that every single season I hear about how the Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl. Look, they have no sense of team. It’s all about high $$, high maintenance divas. You might have some individual stars, but the one star that dons their uniform doesn’t exist.
But ok, that’s just my opinion.
Cowboys fans need to tell me!
