Winning the AFC Championship – 10 yards at a time
But being a team player, here’s what Ben said, “Limas (Sweed) obviously is going to talk about the drop. I told him, just trust yourself. Know you’re going to make the play next time. I’m going to come right back to you if I have to. So I think he got his confidence back, but we’ll keep working.”

The defense again really stepped up in this game. Big plays by Deshea Townsend and Troy Polamalu really sealed the win for the Steelers.
So in summary, it really is possible to beat a team three times in a season if you are the better team. There were no controversial plays at the last minute. The Steelers won this game. Was it an inexperienced QB? Maybe, or maybe it was just the better team won. Can’t it really just be that simple?
There are a lot of moving parts in a football game, I don’t think a win or loss is due to any one person. The Steelers did give up a lot of field position on bad punts and penalties. Quite frankly, the score should have been a little higher for the Steelers if you take out the penalites and plays that were called back.
This rivalry isn’t going anywhere, the Ravens will be a team we have to contend with for a long time and as always, you will get a hard-hitting, nasty physical game. If you love defense, like I do, you will not be disappointed.
I’m looking forward to Super Bowl XLIII and hopefully what will be Mike Tomlin’s first Super Bowl win (and youngest coach to do so) as well as the Steelers #6 Super Bowl win, the first in the NFL to make that mark.

The better team won. The Ravens had the game right where they needed it until the INT. I’m trying to find the silver lining (it’s gonna take a few days).

Yes, the better team won. I believe I have already said that and I think you’d be remiss to find any Raven fan tell you otherwise- or any football fan for that matter…
I def. felt like the score should have been higher, especially in the first half, I told my friends that if the Steelers lose this man, they are going to look back and be so mad at themselves. That spike ball, missed field goal was not even an issue.
Interesting….is Cheeseburger (lol) under-rated so much? yes and no. P. Manning and Brady are marquis players and put up sick numbers pretty consistently. They usually have the better supporting casts too. Not this time.
I think this SB “win” will bring Big Ben into the upper enchelant again (have not done any research yet on the Cards though). Big Ben is scrappy and a gamer, not as domineering with his “long” ball. And you know, it’s not just chicks that dig long ball, it’s the media too. And the people, if you think about it.
Nevertheless, he is a force. I don’t think anyone would deny him that. Anyone. I watched him play his first game here in B-more and was enamored and fearful (I think he beat us…can’t remember).
Also when I think of Brady and Manning I think more of finesse players.
I am digging learning about Tomlin….his character, demeanor. The way he carries himself. Plus, he is so handsome.
As part of my football pennance, I am going to write you up a nice game recap like I said I would.
For whatever the reasons, I’m all about this game.
I need a day or two though because I’ve got a contract-story I’m working as well as a couple of others.

Congratulations on a hard-fought, well-deserved win. To piggyback on earlier comments, there was no doubt that the better team won. And I say that as a Raven fan.
I also just wanted to say that thanks to mdbirdlover, I found your blog as well, and while we don’t support the same team, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts about the Steelers.
