I am second – Baron Batch
Baron Batch, a running back the Steelers picked up late in the draft is so much more than football. This kid is truly inspiring. When I was writing that earlier recap post tonight, I knew I wanted to learn more about each draft pick and when I found his blog (thanks to LaMarr Woodley) I cried my eyes out. Literally, tears streaming down my face, sitting here with my laptop on my lap I read his story and thought about what so many kids are often too young to understand. I thought about my own son and aspiring football player and how much he takes for granted on a daily basis. (Don’t worry, I linked it all on my son’s FB page so that he’s forced to at least think about reading it)
Batch is a kid who will do great things. I think it’s ironic that when he wrote his story on his blog, he was flying to meet with Pittsburgh coaches and that’s who ended up drafting him.
I’m proud to have a kid like this on our team. What an amazing young man.
Congrats Baron! Love you already.
