Wow. What a game.
The first half was amazing. Â Who thought the Steelers would dominate in that way, or that Rashard would be able to run the ball all day. Â The defense and offense were both clicking on all cylinders. Â Up 24-0 right before the half, the Steelers held the Jets the entire game and controlled time of possession. Â The Jets were only able to score 3 points in the last few minutes of the first half.
Leading 24-3, the Steelers came out somewhat complacent in the second half. Â The Jets were able to score 16 unanswered points in the second half. Â My blood pressure rose with every first down the Jets were able to get in the second half.
But at the end of the day. Â We won. Â We were able to hold the Jets with time ticking and no time outs.
I tip my hat to the Jets because they are a good team. Â Despite their trash talking, they didn’t do it this week, but I have respect for Rex. Â I think he’s a good coach. Â I think the Jets will be a force in the AFC for the future and I look forward to seeing them in the future.
But I also want to recognize Mike Tomlin. Â As Tomlin always says, we don’t win on style points. Â We played a tough first half and made Sanchez work to catch up to us. Â It was a great game.

I thought Pittsburgh was going to PLAY, but I did not expect such a masterful first half. They definitely went into “prevent” mode for the second half, and that is usually a fatal game plan. But they held tough, and made just enough plays to put the “W” in their column at the end of the game. Well, done, Black & Gold, well done!
Second half was so frustrating. I wanted them to put their foot on the gas and put it away. But at the end of the day, we’re going back to the Super Bowl!
Waiting with bated breath for some kind of update on Markice, hopefully we’ll hear something positive tomorrow.
